I just got notice from Ms. Timmerman who teaches art at the Thomas C. Cario Middle School in Mt. Pleasant that her students successfully completed the carving project that I helped them get started on. It really turned out great. It was a 4′ x 8′ board and that was a LOT of wood to carve. Very impressive! The painting worked out really well also.
They are competing with other local middle schools on a giant Christmas Card competition for the James Island County Park Christmas festivities. They won first prize for the past 2 years in a row. Good luck this year!
The park has a wonderful display of Christmas light decorations, and lots of fun festive things to do with the family. Coming from Minnesota, I always have a difficult time getting into the Christmas spirit here in Charleston without seeing snow. This always helps me get in the Christmas mood.
I can’t believe Christmas is just around the corner! How did that happen???
