I just finished another video for the online woodcarving school. It first covers the technique of lowering down the outside edges and preparing the wood for carving (this is done in a sort of slide show of photos and written instruction because I was not able to video this process) – covering the process of using both hand planes and table saw.
Then there are 40 minutes of video showing the process of how to carve the delicate linenfold edge to give the appearance of flowing cloth along the edge of the design.
Keep your eyes open for the August, 2013 Popular Woodworking magazine where I have an article coming out on this same topic.
I haven’t been in my workshop for nearly 3 weeks, and I think I am having withdrawals. Maybe I’ll just hang out there and breathe in the smell of carving…. That will get me back into the swing of it.
