I had a great weekend teaching how to carve the Ball and Claw foot at Woodcraft Supply in Greenville, SC. Two of the students had not carved before, and as you can see from the photograph, everyone did a great job. It was nice that it was a small class and that I had a lot of time to go around and give personal attention to each student. I am looking forward to seeing what future creations come out of these talented woodworkers!
I’ve got 2 more classes set up for Greenville (haven’t listed them on my web site yet). They are:
Beginning carving – Jan. 13 (1:00 to 5:00) and Jan. 14 (9:00 – 2:00)
Carving a classic shell (or 2) February 18 & 19 – 2 full days.
I have another ball and claw class scheduled for the Woodwright School in Pittsboro, NC (Roy Underhill’s school) in May. www.woodwrightschool.com
Any other classes that are scheduled, check my web site at www.marymaycarving.com
I was one of the neophytes. It was very fun, and Mary was a very patient teacher. Would love to take more classes with her when I have time!
Thank You!
