I got a little farther on the king’s head. I can’t get over what a great personality this guy has.
The wood that I am using is Spanish Cedar, as it deals with weather the best. We use it down here in SC for windows becauseĀ it survives the extreme heat and humidity, and also it has got such a nasty acid taste that bugs won’t eat. Trust me, if you get spanish cedar (not aromatic cedar) dust on your lips, it’s awful! Very bitter.
I love my job!
Ahh grasshopper–becoming one with your work…That was a great choice of wood. If the client would…they could add that Penitrol to the paint and let it get deep into the wood. Then a final coat of a oil base paint. I personally do not like paint on sculpture as it always fills up detail.
