This is a brief introduction to "Carving a Leaf and Flower Moulding."
This 2 episode lesson shows how to carve a moulding with alternating bell flowers and stylized acanthus leaves. The original commission was for the edge of a massive table but this could easily be used as an architectural trim moulding or a picture frame.

You will need to test some of the woods in your area, but basswood is sometimes called Linden (Europe) or Lime (England) also. Mahogany also is good.
