Art Nouveau coffer/chest

These are the front and side panels for an Art Nouveau chest. They'll be framed, eventually.

Very nice work!  These look great.

Very nicely done! Carving Art Nouveau style can be challenging to keep the "flow", and carving a reverse image adds that much more difficulty (limits the "design adjustments") . I think if I had time to play with carving in my free time (what's that?), I'd do much more of this style. Giving a swirling, twisting movement to a carving is a challenge I always love to tackle.

Very nice indeed!

Thank you all for the compliments.

Beautiful work and design.

What a lot of background work ... far more background area than foreground! That certainly kept you busy. I'm guessing you have a few #2 gouges.

Beautiful work Autumn!

These are beautiful carvings. Where did you get the designs? I am very interested in learning more about this style.

Beautiful!  Thanks for sharing Autumn.  Mahogany I'm guessing?
