Headphones vs. earplugs

Hi Mary,

Just after watching your latest lesson on the shell-niche - in which you used ear plugs - I visited an ENT specialist for an ear problem. During the pre-exam he ask me if I used ear, hearing, protection while using power tools. I replied that I used headphones and he said that was good; more to the point he added that proper headphones generally gave a 10 decibel advantage over ear plugs.  Something to consider!
