Discussions on this forum are membership-run. I (Mary May) will monitor conversations and will try and contribute as needed. However, I can't guarantee that I will always have time to keep up with the discussions. Please feel free to contribute, as the only way this forum will be successful is if members get involved! I will also be the "judge and juror" with inappropriate, rude, or offensive behavior, so play nice!

Hi all,
Anyone know the trick to loading a profile picture? It's probably right in front of me.. no doubt!
Thanks, Jim

I haven't been able to figure this out either. I was guessing it is something that will be revealed when I go to the full membership. I haven't get there yet though, so I must wait a bit longer.

Hello all.
Here is a simple tutorial on how to get your own image ("avatar") next to your name when you make a post.
This is handled by a service called Gravatar. It is part of the wordpress.com world.
All you need to do is go to their website (https://en.gravatar.com) and signup for an account. You can either create your own profile on that site or log in using your wordpress.com account if you have one.
After you log in you will see an option in the top menu called "My Gravatars" and then simply follow the 2-step process to upload your own image. That's it.
IMPORTANT: The email address you use on this site MUST be the same one you use when creating your account on gravatar.com. That is the way the two systems talk to each other and recognizes you when you log into our website.
Once you have done the above, the next time you log into our website, you should see your image next to your name.
Good luck and post here if you have any issues.
Best,
--Arun.

Bingo! - that was pretty easy, different but easy. I left the profile part empty on the Gravatar site after adding my photo seeing that it is public but I can research that later. Thanks for the help!

Yes, that did seem to work. That is what counts. I find the Gravitar idea a good one, but never heard of it before.
