Work in Progress

Wood is a walnut block I laminated from a board. Sorry the pictures aren't very good.

Very nice...I like the theme. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

This is shaping up nicely. Please share progress photos.

Finally completed this last month. The wood is walnut and the finish is dark Minwax paste wax. It won first place at the Orange County Woodcarver's Annual show last week.

Beautiful piece!!

That turned out very nice! It's difficult to tell the size. Can you share the dimensions?

Sure. It's 12 inches long, 9 inches wide and the distance from the bottom of the base to the larger seal's nose is 8 inches. It was a pretty large block of walnut to begin with and took a lot of roughing out.

Elegant. I love the finish. Very life like.

Oh wow!  What an absolutely beautiful piece of work.  Well done.  I hope that one day I can do work that that!
