I just watched your lesson on introduction to carving tools.
I have been carving for about 11 years,,, but "you don't know what you don't know", till you take a lesson from a Master Carver such as yourself.
I look forward to spending some quality time following your lessons.
Well done!

Any additional information on how we could alter the ribbon to fit our own household items (e.g., the odd shaped mirror on one of my wife's antique "chests(?)" handed down from her family) and still appear as beautiful as your original?
Hi Ralph,
Play around with drawing the ribbon in different shapes. The basic technique is the same with making the ribbon curl in flowing "S" curves. The wrinkles on the ribbon would be randomly placed, but mostly positioned perpendicular to the edge of the ribbon. So as the ribbon curves, the "wrinkles" change direction also. I hope to do a lesson soon that includes the ribbon in other designs.
