Kudos to the editing that added the template with yellow highlights while you were demonstrating the extra decorative cuts. Very Helpful!

Yes, a fun project. But... Play-Doh is highly overrated as an edible. 🙂

Mary, I so enjoy watching you work and be such a great instructor at the same time. It is indeed a pleasure.

    Hi Mary,
I'm getting ready to carve the rose. I have a question just to clarify the dimensions. Is the rose 1" thick?
    Thanks

An old fashioned hand router (not electric) might help flatten the background a little faster, with more control than an electric router. They come in two sizes - larger and quite small. I found mine in a flea market, but you can buy them new, or make your own the size you need. I'd back up the base with a thin piece of wood just in case the metal riding over the cherry discolors the cherry. You have the same problem of an edge tool and grain direction, which an electric router avoids, but I think you can see what you are doing a little better. Then again, you may spend more time adjusting the tool than simply carving the background...

This video kept stopping, about 4 or 5 times in one sentence at times. Is it my computer, or does it originate on your end?

      Hi Joyce,
Great idea about the hand router. I have never used one, but will look into this. I just don't like the dust and noise of an electric router.

I think Bob has contacted you directly re video stopping. We have not experienced any issues on our side.

      Thanks!
