Hi Mary,
I wanted to share my combination of lessons. I combined your grape leaf cluster, green man, chippendale acanthus leaf bracket, and even added some undercutting for this piece of 9" by 18" basswood. It is my profile picture but I think you mentioned students sharing their grape leaf projects on the live stream. Despite more fuzzies then I'd like to admit I am pleased with the results. Thank you so much for the lessons. You have really helped enforce the importance of grain direction, especially on the brackets. Thanks again.
Tyler
Hi Tyler,
I'm so happy to hear you are getting a lot out of my lessons! I love that you have combined some of my designs and created your own. Great job!
Fantastic ... enjoyed this one particularly ... watched it from the saved version so had no problems with pauses ..
Need a suggestion as to what to carve next? How about the previous suggesstion, i.e., a realistic version of a sea turtle, ridley or green, to fit in with the previous lessons on fish/sea life? At least, please think about it as I still have my slab of monkeypod from long years ago with five increasing sizes of turtle outlines pasted on it. Thanks again for all you do to enliven our lives .... rmh
I’ve always been intrigued by Masks,Tiki’s,Totums and other tribal carvings. I’ve seen pieces of carvings from the Titanic and the rose carvings
Were incredible.
