I was recently asked the question – “What do you do for fun?”. In other words – “What do you do in your spare time when you’re not working your day job?”
I sort of stared at her like a deer in the headlights for a moment – having a kind of mini-panic attack.I should be able to answer this easily. I should be able to answer with something very profound and clever. I just stared at her with my mouth open. She asked again “Well, what kind of hobbies do you have?” Still… the panic continued…
“Ummmm…I carve” I finally replied. It just seemed strange to say that – like it was the “wrong” answer since I spend all of my day carving or doing things related to carving and this often goes into the evening. But as I pondered this question more – “What do you do for fun?” – the answer is still the same. I carve. I have FUN carving. Isn’t it wonderful when you have a career, hobby and “fun” all in one big package?
I am a blessed woman.. Maybe one day I’ll find a hobby 🙂
