- Finished!
- Start by carving the concave sections first and then rounding over the convex areas. Use #10, 6mm and 10mm for concave, and #3, 14mm or back bent gouges four convex areas.
- This is what it should look like before carving the convex/concave sections of the shell
- Cut out rest of shell template (because it is difficult to trace with the curve of the wood). Trace shell lines onto wood with carbon paper.
- Cut out center design on template and trace on wood using carbon paper. Cut around center fan with a v-chisel about 1/16″. Lower down surface of background so it gently flows to this cut.
- Lower down shell with a gentle curve at the edge
- Lowering down the area under the shell
