Am considering trying to make the molding planes needed to work on linenfold panels and so reviewed your older film re how you work on them ... only to find that you apparently didn't set up your older work to allow us to download copies. Since I will be needing to work off of a laptop/dvd when carving down at my woodshop, I would like to be able to download to disk and take it to the shop. Any chance of getting your tech folks to review the older files and add download capability? Thanks for the consideration ... ralph
Hello Ralph,
All lessons should allow downloading capability and I double checked this lesson to make sure it is working correctly. The only difference is that the older lessons are standard definition vs HD. I will contact you directly to make sure everything is working on your side.
I want to do this as relief carvings in a pair of cabinet doors. Would you still carve the outside edges as a 45 degree chamfer , or would you suggest something else?
Hello Richard,
The 45 degree chamfer creates a nice, clean and sharp edge. An option would be to make this chamfer slightly smaller, but I think the chamfer shown on the video would work as you are wanting. Sounds like a great project!
I am just learning to do woodcarving now that I am retired. I heard about you at a woodcarving class at my local VA. Thanks for the information. It is helping a lot.
