Thanks. I do understand the problem...that's probably why I think it would be great! I certainly know you can't do a 40 hour video, but wouldn't that be something? 🙂 I'd probably get a block of wood and follow you all the way through the 40 hours....
I would love to see some lessons on carving in the round. You show absolutely beautiful sculptures in your gallery and it would be great if you could do some simple ones in a class.
Earl - So would I! I think the main difficulty is the time that it takes to carve "in-the-round" takes so much longer than the relief carvings. There are times when I carve 3-dimensional pieces and it can take 4 or 5 days (thats 30 to 40 hours of video). I will try to get some videos that can be shortened.
Well... yes - I am working with Lie-Nielsen and Aurious to have a set of tools fishtail gouges made, but we are still in the process of creating the prototypes for a set of 11 gouges. My guess is they might start manufacturing within 3 or 4 months. I hope!
