Mallet

I have been trying to find the brass mallet that Mary uses because i really like the shape of it does anyone know what one it is and where I can get it from?

Hello

Need a little help here please, trying to make a post and a suggestion. How would I go about doing it?

Mary asked for suggestions on what to carve for her next livestream and would like to send it. I Tried but don't know if I did it right.

Hi Rebecca

If I'm not too late to reply to your question, I'm not sure what brass mallet Mary uses, but Lee Valley have brass ones that looks very similar.
They are item numbers  05K1501 (small, 12 oz head) and 05K1503 (large, 18 oz head).
Lee Valley also have wood and phenolic headed carver's mallets.

The mallets carried by Lee Valley can be seen at  Mallets - Hand Tools - Lee Valley Tools

Other options I can think of include brass mallets from Pfeil available from Woodcraft.com and other makers.

I note that Mary suggests that a carver's mallet weigh between 16 oz (1 lb) and 24 oz (1.5 lb).
However, may I suggest that rather than trying to get the "same mallet Mary uses" you try several and select the one that best fits you hand?

kind regards
