• From David Piazzo on Carving a Pineapple - Episode 1

Just wanted to say, this is a really nice project. My initial interest was in seeing how you tackled the spiraling lines in the body of the pineapple to make he individual diamond shaped segments.. but there is a lot more to learn as well.
Beautiful.. Oh and I like the music, very calming... Thanks MM

    Hi Bob,

I am unable to get Mary's videos to play on my android tablet. What program do I need for playing them?

      Hi Autumn,

You should not need any additional programs. I've found the browsers on the Android tablets a bit "fussy." Yet, the videos DO play in the browser (Personally, I use Chrome.) There is far more variability with Androids than with iPads. Get the latest version of the Chrome browser. It works.

  • From William Rees on Carving a Pineapple - Episode 3

    Hi Mary,

Have you thought of painting your new pineapple ? I have done 2 during my caving career and eventually painted them and made them into a welcome sign for my front door. Getting the colors just right takes a little trial and error. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    Bill Rees

    • From Mary May on Carving a Pineapple - Episode 3

      Hi William,
I haven't painted many of my carvings. I have never really studied color or painting, so I really don't feel very confident with that art. If you have carved in a wood with nice grain, like butternut, you may want to paint a type of milk paint, or something that will allow the grain to show through. Have fun!

I understand more with repeated viewings; things become clearer. The camera work and your explanations are simply wonderful. Thank you and your crew.
