I was catching up on the livestreams and watched the celtic knot today. Another background alternative is to remove it all by making it a pierced carving. I used it this way several years back when I made a love spoon as a wedding gift for my daughter. Wish I had Mary's drawing and carving tips for the knot when I made it. Mine was shaky at best. My sister is about to get married, so I'll have a chance to put Mary's tips into practice while making one for her.

That's cool! I've always been fascinated by Celtic knots and their intricate designs. Your idea of removing the background to create a pierced carving is excellent, and I can imagine how beautiful it must look. It's fantastic that you're planning to make a love spoon for your sister's wedding using Mary's tips – I'm sure she'll appreciate the thought and effort you put into it. Good luck with the project, and don't hesitate to call us if you need a taxi to take you to the wedding!
