Simple leaf

I watched the lesson on carving the maple leaf. All the turns scared this new carver so I drew a simple leaf.  Only been carving for 7 days. This is hard!

Modifying the designs are allowed - and encouraged! Your confidence will grow with each cut. And don't forget to have fun!

Scrapped my first one when it looked too much like a star. Here is my start of my s cond attempt.

That turned out beautiful! And I had to stare at it for a while to see whether it was carved incised or raised. Very deceiving with the shadows.

Keep having fun with the carving!

"This is hard."

Yep, the normal feeling when getting started. After a few more, you'll find things a lot easier.

You're progressing nicely. Happy carving!

Thank you for your encouraging words!
