This is a brief introduction to "Carving the Byzantine Style on a Bellows."

This four episode lesson shows how to carve an example of the beautiful Byzantine Style on half of a homemade bellows. This distinctively stylized acanthus leaf from the 6th century is most noted as an architectural decoration from Constantinople (modern day Istanbul, Turkey) which gained popularity and spread across Europe to Italy and on to England.
