This is a brief introduction to "Carving a Simple Fleur De Lis Plaque."
This lesson shows how to carve a simple Fleur-De-Lis in relief on a square plaque with lowered background. Both ends of the design are similar but the grain is going in a different direction for each. This lesson really shows the importance of thinking about grain direction before starting to carve, especially in a symmetrical design.
