This is a brief introduction to "Carving the Madonna & Child."
I present another original design in my favorite style, the Art Nouveau. The gentle asymmetry of this ornament shows a Nativity scene of a happy mother embracing the newborn savior of the world, Jesus Christ. God bless you and your families. Merry Christmas!

Very nice project. Is it wise to use Oak wood for this project, or even Maple?
Hello Ralph,
Oak or maple would work fine. Both are potentially harder than mahogany, but just take your time and make sure your gouges are sharp!
Excellent subject and carving projects the love between Mary and baby Jesus.
Thank you! I really enjoyed carving this one also. It brings us into the heart of the Christmas Season.
